The Hartman Analog Flanger is a meticulous recreation of one of the early greats: the original (70's) Electro-Harmonix Electric Mistress Flanger and Filter Matrix. Not the Deluxe, not the Stereo, the original. Built around the bucket-brigade SAD1024 chip used in the originals (a rapidly vanishing and obsolete chip), the Hartman achieves the vivid but transparent flange and static-filter effects of the original, and combines them with heavy-duty true-bypass switching, LED indicator, and the ability to run off of a single 9V battery or 9-12VDC via the external power adaptor.
In addition to using critical authentic NOS components and faithfully recreating the oscillator and signal path of the original Mistress, the Hartman Analog Flanger features ultra low-noise carbon film resistors and metal film capacitors for superior sonic fidelity.
Great care was taken with power supply design and PCB trace layout to minimize crosstalk, clock aliasing noise, and oscillator pulses appearing on the supply rails--problems that plagued some of the (hand-traced) originals.
